Rha Goddess will be performeing for the Women Center Stage Festival. She once performed in my store's garden and she was fantastic! I still don't understand how she isn't a common household name. (I will never forget her stopping by for tea and our, then kitten, Riley curled up in her lap--he liked her because she's pretty. What a flirt.) Anyway, don't miss her show.

We Got Issues! is a collective, founded by Rha Goddess, of spoken word poets, writers and other strong and committed women whose work is dedicated to empowering young women to find - and use - their voices.

Showcasing the freshest blend of art, politics, and transformation, the We Got Issues! All Stars are gathering for a night of groundbreaking entertainment. Come ignite your imagination and inspire your soul through this unique collection of song, dance, music, and spoken word.

Staceyann Chin, Culture Project’s poet-in-residence, is a mainstay of WCS festivals. This year, while working on a new book, she brings new material to the festival for two nights only.

Staceyann Chin has been an “out poet and political activist” since 1998, presenting work at the Nuyorican Poets' Cafe and poetry workshops in Denmark and London. Chin was also a co-writer and performer in the Tony-nominated Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam on Broadway.

Her provocative and well-received personal stage memoir, Border/Clash, brought to Culture Project the heart-pounding story of a young woman's journey to womanhood as a gay, Jamaican-Chinese immigrant in America.
