David Letterman Reacts to John McCain Suspending Campaign

Canceling the debate is an act of cowardice and political maneuvering. It got McCain out of facing Obama in a debate, who will wipe the floor with him. These debates have been in the planing since 2006 and cost millions of dollars to put on. To blithely cancel them for no real reason is just another sign that McCain is unfit to the office he seeks. America has a right to see our potential leaders debate the issues, especially with only 40 days left until the election.

Canceling the debate also conveniently got the story of John McCain's campaign manager still getting pay checks from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as reported by the New York Times, off the nightly news.

And this bail out of Wall Street is a scam. It is a street con. When you have a mark, you keep hitting them because you know that they are suckers. And that is what America has been acting like, suckers. If somebody constantly lies to you and you constant fall for the lie then you are a sucker.

Now they are trying to get the vice-presidential debates canceled. Unbelievable. If America falls for this crap ... it deserves what it gets. Only I still live here. Damn.

Note to McCain: Canceling the debate is one thing, canceling Letterman is a whole 'nother level of stupid.
