I don't know how to add umlauts, but I believe the New Yorker article should have been called "Woerterdaemerung": "Twilight of the Words" a la Twilight of the Gods.

Sad stuff, in any event.

I have a recent, brief note about freedom of speech that is disturbing, but most of what I do is review fiction. I almost never post negative reviews, but sometimes break that rule, including for one recent case.
