Edwidge Danticat is the author of the story collection Krik? Krak!, the novels Breath, Eyes, Memory and The Dew Breaker and the memoir Brother, I’m Dying. Danticat “ploughs an independent furrow, and her work gets stronger and more confident with each book,” wrote Caryl Phillips.

In Zakes Mda, “we encounter a writer who has the power to shock or frighten us, to astound and anger and unsettle us,” said The New York Times. Mda’s work includes the novels Ways of Dying, The Whale Caller and Cion.
