New books in the store

Today I'm adding books on the environment since I'm putting in Al Gore's new book, The Assault on Reason. His new title is not about the environment. It is about how "the politics of fear, secrecy, cronyism, and blind faith has combined with the degration of the public sphere to create an environment dangerously hostile to reason." In other words: how America went loopy. Most bibliophiles have been awake enough to see past the fearmongering to know that the current administration has been telling lies. But a lot of people have been asleep (and not reading) so they believed everything that they were told — an easy way to be fooled into believing unreality.

Anyone who has seen the documentary An Inconvenient Truth (or read the book) knows that Al Gore's interest in the environment goes far back. His original book, Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit, stated his warning about the dangers posed to our planet was published in 1992. He was dubbed "Captain Ozone" by George H. Bush during the presidental campaign. (What a jerk.)

Other new important books on environment that I've included into our collection today are:
