New books in the store

Today I think that I'll refresh the collection with books from Susan Sontag. She died in 2004. At the Same Time: Essays and Speeches is new collection of essays from her. An intellectual and a seer, she contributed much to the American literary canon in her time here with us. Always outspoken, she was the president of PEN America when the fatwa against Salmon Rusdie was issued and she rallied writers to his cause. Her entry in Wikipedia makes for fascinating reading.
